эк. тр., юр., брит. закон "Об отношениях в области найма", 1999 г.* (направлен на адаптацию трудового законодательства Великобритании к нормам, установленным Европейским Союзом; инициирован лейбористским правительством, пришедшим к власти в 1997 г., и явился наряду с законом "О правах человека", 1998 г. реализацией программы ликвидации разногласий между Европейским Союзом и консервативным правительством Великобритании, отказавшимся подписать Хартию Европейского Сообщества о фундаментальных общественных правах рабочих и социальную главу Маастрихского договора, вынуждавших предоставить широкие полномочия профсоюзам и рабочему движению, в том числе позитивные права на коллективный протест, исторически отсутствовавшие в законодательстве Великобритании; с принятием закона компетенция инспектирующих органов Европейского Союза в области трудового законодательства распространяется на Великобританию)
